There’s nothing like a nice game of murderball to break up the week – especially if you get to not only watch it being played by the best, but to try it out yourself. In celebration of the final lead up to this summer’s Parpan Am Games competition, the Pan Am Games/Parapan Am Games organization hosted an event that included a demonstration of murderball (a.k.a. wheelchair rugby) at the CBC building in downtown Toronto. The CBC’s Dwight Drummond kicked things off alongside Catherine Lafrance of Téléjournal Ontario (Radio-Canada).
Scott Russell interviewed the athletes about going for the gold, qualifying for the Rio de Janeiro Paralympics and celebrating the love
of sport.
But let’s be honest: we all came for the murderball.
Check out this fun time-lapse video of the demonstration.
