For most people the details will be vague. They’ll know there’s going to be a lot of people, a lot of equipment, and hopefully a lot of cheering. In other words, most people will know as much about the 2015 Pan Am Games as they know about the way their company’s IT infrastructure works.

Recently, however, the organizers of the Games, which will take place in Toronto next sumer, published an infographic that pulls together all kinds of surprising facts and figures. Here are the basics:

“The TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games will feature more than 1,600 athletes from 28 participating National Paralympic Committees, making them the largest Parapan Am Games ever held,” the organizers said. “A total of 15 sports will be played across 10-plus venues in five municipalities, helping to build Ontario’s parasport legacy.  A team of 20,000 volunteers will help facilitate the TORONTO 2015 Parapan Am Games, and 400 competition wheelchairs are projected to be used at the event.”
