Cloud Computing: Where It’s at and Where It’s Going

IDG Enterprise surveyed 1,682 technology decision makers to measure cloud computing trends including usage, plans, investments, business drivers and business impacts. The survey revealed that within the next five years, 27% of respondents will perform the majority of their IT operations in the cloud. The majority of respondents (63%) also believe that moving to the cloud will result in higher short-term costs but save them money in the long term.
